Body or mind?
First of all, let’s get one thing clear. It’s not your body that wants to smoke, it’s your mind. You have been brainwashed into believing that a smoke will make you feel better. Think back, now, to all the subtle messages you received as a youngster: the people who said that a cigarette would relax you, the film stars puffing away in romantic situations, the adults who said you were too young to smoke (i.e it’s an adult thing). To say nothing of peer pressure.  And much else. They fed you this nonsense, and you took it on board. It trickled down into your subconscious mind, where you don’t notice it, but it controls your behaviour just the same. Your subconscious is shouting at you every hour or so to light up, and will not leave you in peace. This is why gritting your teeth or sticking a patch on your arm doesn’t really work. So how can this be fixed?
